The Fine Print, Minus the Fog
Privacy Policy

This explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. SideHustleBuilder.com is operated by GIG Media and Consulting LLC, based in New York. Reach us any time at hello@sidehustlebuilder.com.
What we collect
Only what the service actually needs. Here is the whole list.
- Your name and email address. Used to set up your account, send your order confirmation, deliver your site, and send account messages.
- Your phone number and mailing address. Collected at checkout. The mailing address is required by domain registrars, who will not register a domain without a full registrant address. If you never register a domain through us, it simply stays on your account record.
- Your business details and site content. Business name, what you do, city and state, service descriptions, pricing, social links, and anything else you type into the editor. This is the material your website is built from.
- Photos and files you upload. Stored so they can be published on your site.
- Payment information. We never see or store your card number. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe under its own security standards. We keep a customer reference from Stripe so we can bill your hosting and show you your receipts, along with the last four digits and card brand that Stripe reports back.
- Basic technical information. Our hosting and email providers log ordinary things like IP addresses, browser type, and delivery status as part of running the service securely.
What we do with it
We use your information to build your website, host it, bill you for hosting, register a domain if you ask us to, respond when you contact us, and send you email about your order, your site, and your billing.
If you join our waitlist or sign up for updates, we use your email to send you marketing messages about SideHustleBuilder. Every one of those has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing from marketing never affects the account and billing emails you need to receive as a paying client.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to build a profile of you or follow you around the internet.
Who else touches it
Running your site takes a small set of providers, each handling only what it needs to. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
- Stripe. Payments, subscriptions, and your billing portal.
- Netlify. Hosting for your live site.
- GitHub. Where your site's files are stored.
- Supabase. Your account record, your site content, and your uploaded photos.
- Resend. Account and billing email.
- Kit. Marketing and waitlist email, only if you signed up for it.
- Name.com. Domain registration, and only if you ask us to register a domain for you. Registrars require your name, address, email, and phone to create the registration record, and that information goes to them because there is no way to register a domain without it.
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety. If our business is ever sold or merged, your information would transfer with it, and your agreement with us travels with you unchanged.
Where it lives
Our providers store data in the United States. If you're using the service from outside the US, your information is processed here.
How long we keep it
- While your hosting is active, we keep your account record and site content so your site keeps running and you can keep editing it.
- After you cancel, we email you a download link for a ZIP of your site files. That link works for 30 days. We keep your site files for 30 days from the day your site goes offline, so you have a window to reactivate or retrieve them.
- Billing and tax records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, which is generally seven years. These are records of transactions, not your site content.
- Marketing email records are kept until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record afterward so we don't accidentally email you again.
How we protect it
Data moves over encrypted connections and is stored with providers that encrypt it at rest. Access is limited to what's needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't promise otherwise, but if a breach ever affects your personal information we'll notify you as required by law.
Your choices
- See what we have. Email us and we'll tell you what's on your account record.
- Correct it. Most of it you can edit yourself in your site editor under Settings. Anything else, email us.
- Delete it. Email us and we'll remove your stored content and account record, other than the billing and tax records we're required to keep. Deleting your content means your site comes down.
- Stop marketing email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing message, or email us.
- Take your files. Your site files are yours. You get them automatically when you cancel, and you can ask for them any time before that.
Some states give residents specific privacy rights, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or targeted advertising. We don't sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising at all. If you're in one of those states and want to exercise a right, email us and we'll handle it. We won't treat you differently for asking.
Cookies and analytics
We're not running any analytics tool right now. Our providers set the cookies necessary to keep you logged in and to process payments securely, and nothing beyond that. If we ever add analytics, we'll name the tool here and explain what it tracks before it goes live, and we'll never use it to follow you around the internet.
Your site's own visitors
When we host your website, people visit it and sometimes contact you through it. Any information they give you is yours to handle, and you're responsible for how you use it and for any privacy notice your own business is required to give them. We only process it as part of hosting your site.
Children
This service is for adults. You have to be at least 18 to buy it. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Links to other sites
Your site and ours may link to places we don't run. We're not responsible for what those sites do with your information.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and we'll email you before the change takes effect.
